We are not-for-profit - all funds raised will be invested in New Brighton.

We make a happier community environment through planting flowers in New Brighton

We are 100% run by volunteers and are sponsored by some small local businesses and residents.  We are not-for-profit - all money raised goes into making New Brighton a nicer place to live.

Our Community Group

We are a 100% not-for-profit group run by Volunteers.  Every penny we raise goes towards planting flower displays around New Brighton.
We have 90 planting areas including pots, planters, boats and a garden.

Our Volunteers

Our fabulous Volunteers donate their time to do all of the activities for New Brighton in Bloom.  They are an incredible group of individuals who keep our organisation going!
We are always looking for new Volunteers to join our team - click below to find out more.

Our Sponsors

Our Sponsors are all local businesses in New Brighton.  Their sponsorship provides the funds for our planting for the whole year - without the support of our sponsors we couldn't do what we do.

2024 RHS Britain in Bloom Competition - Congratulations New Brighton Community!

Monday 22nd July - RHS Judging

It was terrific to welcome Neil and Sandra, RHS judges, to see our New Brighton Community. It was fabulous to show Neil and Sandra around Victoria Road with Dan Davies from Rockpoint Leisure and

Thank you to the Wirral Mayor Cherry Povall JP and Mayoress Sheila Clarke MBE who attended the visit and were wonderful on the day.

New Brighton Community includes a collaboration of organisations.  New Brighton in Bloom linked up with Friends of Victoria Quarter and the Floral Civilians, Rockpoint Leisure and Wirral Borough Council to enter and plan for the competition.

Collectively we linked up with lots of New Brighton organisations to celebrate New Brighton Community.  On the day we started at Rockpoint Records, looked at the fantastic Victoria Road Art and the pots planted and maintained by New Brighton in Bloom Volunteers.

The Friends of Victoria Quarter took over then and showed off the amazing work they have done in the 22 traffic-calming planters in the streets behind Victoria Road.

The judges and Mayor and Mayoress then looked at Pat's Garden on Victoria Road which is being developed by New Brighton in Bloom to be a green space promoting pollinator activity.

The Judges then visited the Floral Pavilion and saw the work of the Floral Civilians who are planting a Tapestry Lawn.  Tim from the Friends of Victoria Quarter also outlined the great work of the New Brighteners and the Friends of New Brighton Marine Lake.

The RNLI were the next organisation visited where the great work of this organisation and the collaboration project with New Brighton in Bloom was discussed.  From here we also discussed the Community Green Grant won by New Brighton in Bloom to complete a number of projects including the pots on the promenade outside of Bubbles.

Next we went to visit the terrific compost project at St James Church on Victoria Road, where local residents create and use compost from food waste.

From there we went to the Gorse Millennium Green where Paul outlined the great work done to create a 'pocket park' since the area became available for public access in 1998.  This also includes the work done since 2017 in the 'deep gorse'.

We passed by Mary's Garden at the Shrine of Saints Peter, Paul, and Saint Philomena which is described as a 'beautiful haven of peace and tranquillity, as is the church itself'.

Our final visit was to the wonderful team at Charlotte's Brightside.  It was great to see that they had a team of young litter pickers out and about.  The judge was overwhelmed with the terrific work being done and bought something in the supermarket.

We found out in October that we had been awarded a Gold Award and a special award for the Best Small Coastal Resort in the North West,

CONGRATULATIONS NEW BRIGHTON COMMUNITY!!!
